  • Parklands, Quendon Hall Wedding Photography

The most fun and relaxed wedding photographed at Parklands Quendon Hall last Summer. It was the HOTTEST day. But that didn't stop these two having the most incredible day. We started with bridal prep at Parklands Quendon Hall, then headed to St Marys Church in Saffron Walden. It’s an incredibly beautiful church and can host very large weddings. The interior is just stunning and it has the most beautiful light too. After a perfect ceremony we all headed back to Parklands Quendon Hall to start the celebrations. The heat was unreal but luckily people were able to take cover underneath the umbrellas in the gardens whilst sipping on refreshments. There are so many beautiful options at Parklands Quendon Hall for couple portraits and we explored the ground with Jesca & Gareth to capture some romantic natural portraits together. The house and grounds have a beautiful English country feel to them. We took our opportunity as the sun went down and the heat cooled off to capture some more couple portraits in that stunning golden light. It was perfect. The sunset at Parklands Quendon Hall is just picturesque as the sun sets over the fields. The party kicked off with an absolute bang and the evening was an absolute roar. What a day! Jesca and Gareth, thank you for the memories. A little love note form Jesca & Gareth: “Danielle was absolutely incredible leading up to and throughout our wedding day. She was professional, promptly replied to emails and always helpful. During the day she was discrete, organised and captured all the moments we wanted. We got a sneak peak of 40-50 photos within 2-3 days and they are fantastic. Such lovely moments captured, high quality and really beautiful. I could not recommend Danielle more highly, she really was excellent and also such a lovely person!! Thank you so much! The photos are absolutely amazing! Have had so much joy looking back at them. Thank you again- you captured our day perfectly. Will cherish these forever!” Suppliers Photographer DANIELLE SMITH PHOTOGRAPHY Venue PARKLANDS QUENDON HALL Hair & Makeup CHARLI SMITH Bridal Boutique THE WHITE COLLECTION BRIDAL Dress Designer MADE WITH LOVE BRIDAL Florist FANCY FAUX SILK FLOWERS Band THE LONDON SHOW BAND Parklands Quendon Hall Wedding Photography Parklands Quendon Hall is a beautiful mansion on the Essex/Hertfordshire border set in a beautiful parkland with gorgeous gardens and grounds. • Naomi & Matt's Intimate Wedding

Naomi and Matt’s intimate wedding was one of my absolute favourites! They are the kindest and most beautiful couple. They wanted a really low-key, intimate wedding with their closest loved ones at their local Register Office. And it was honestly just perfect. Having an intimate wedding can really take the pressure off and make it extra special so that you have more time to spend with your nearest and dearest on the day. They had the most beautiful heartfelt ceremony before heading across the road to the local Abbey for some photos with loved ones. After this, we drove to a special location for Naomi and Matt to have some relaxed couple portraits. They chose the location because it holds precious memories for them. They’ve spent a lot of time their enjoying the views and walks with their gorgeous little dog Millie- who also joined us for some photos! Which I LOVED. Here are a few highlights from Naomi and Matt’s intimate wedding… P.s. Can everyone PLEASE bring their dogs to their weddings from now on?! Some kind words from Naomi & Matt: “We just wanted to say an absolutely HUGE thank you to you for photographing our wedding ceremony on Friday 20th May. As you probably guessed, Matt and I are very awkward and don’t love having our picture taken - but you made us feel so comfortable and we really enjoyed our time. It meant a lot to us that we were able to have some pictures with Millie and that you were happy to go where we wanted for our couple photos - so thank you so much for being so accommodating. Secondly, OH MY GOODNESSS. The photos are more than we could ever have imagined. We are absolutely over the moon with them and we can’t stop scrolling through them all! We already both have our new phone lock screens haha 😅. We are so glad we booked you and couldn’t imagine working with anyone else! You are so talented and it was such a pleasure having you there. We both felt so comfortable with you and are so appreciative for everything. You were an absolute dream to work with and we can’t thank you enough!” Amazing Suppliers: Venue: Bury St Edmunds Register Office Dress Designer: Madi Lane Bridal Dress Boutique: Abigails Collection Hair & Make up: Doll Creative Groomswear: Moss Bros Florist: Thatch & Roses

  • Romantic Wedding at Gaynes Park, Essex

Wow. Where to start?! I was so excited to photograph Grace and James’ romantic wedding at Gaynes Park in Essex last summer. Not only is it one of my favourite venues to work at but Grace and James are so much fun to be around. I love how relaxed they were about the wedding, they went with the flow and enjoyed it to the max, which is all I can ask from my couples! I think it’s so important to enjoy the day with your guests and all the hard work you put into all the little details for your loved ones- whilst you leave your trust in me to capture the love and emotion all around you. Grace is the most loving and honest person you can meet and I love that you can feel her warmth in the photos. James is super laid back and enjoys a laugh and I loved seeing him in his element with his close-knit friends- especially his Dad who he so clearly has a special bond with. Grace and James are clearly very loved by everyone around them and it was a pleasure it witness their wedding and the feel the energy of their celebration. And the best part of the day? Their gorgeous little rescue dog Sully came to play for a bit. I couldn’t get enough of him! He’s the most adorable little guy. The speeches were very eventful with lots of slideshows and films made by friends and family sharing memories and messages with them. I loved capturing all the emotion and reactions to these that I’m sure will mean alot to the couple in years to come. The sunset was gorgeous on this long Summer’s wedding day at Gaynes Park so we seized the opportunity to capture some evening portraits with Grace and James in the golden hour light which was just perfect. Here are just a few moments from their incredible romantic wedding at Gaynes Park… Some kind words from Grace and James: “There are literally no words to say how amazing these photos are as well as our highlights! • Elegant Summer Wedding at Compton Verney

Wow! What a day this was. Sophie and Stuart’s elegant summer wedding at Compton Verney in Warwickshire was simply stunning. All the styling at this elegant wedding was so soft and beautiful. The flowers by the incredibly talented Fleur de T. were soft pinks and neutrals and had a romantic and elegant feel. The piece they created for the ceremony feature was stunning and eye-catching. Sophie and Stuart were also able to re-use it later in the wedding breakfast room as a feature behind the top table. Sophie’s Essence of Australia dress is timeless and classic. I love the off-shoulder neckline and A-line shape, and…it has POCKETS! Compton Verney is a stunning venue in Warwickshire that is an Art Gallery and Sculpture Park. It’s so unique and the buildings and decor are just beautiful. I love the Adam Hall which is where the wedding breakfast is held with its gorgeous all white interior and original columns and marble floor. It’s a photographer’s dream with all the natural light sweeping in through the large windows too. Sophie and Stuart got married at The Chapel at Compton Verney. It’s a beautiful bright space filled with natural light that combines a mix of traditional and contemporary elegance. Sophie and Stuart were so lucky to have beautiful weather for their elegant summer wedding at Compton Verney. Which only means one thing- a gorgeous golden hour in the evening for those soft romantic evening light photos. Here is a little snippet of the gorgeousness of their day at Compton Verney... Here’s what Sophie and Stuart had to say: “If you’re thinking of booking Danielle as your wedding photographer; just do it, you won’t regret it at all!! From the very start Danielle was so lovely, great with communication and that together with her beautiful work made us feel reassured we picked the right photographer which is a blessing when you have so many other things to think and worry about when planning a wedding. On our wedding day Danielle was super calm and has a lovely sense of humour which made having our photos taken really easy and surprisingly fun! The photos we have from our day are beyond what we could have hoped for. We have a beautiful album that tells the story our day that we’ll enjoy looking back on year or year forever. • Family Photos in Chelmsford, Essex

Family Photographs in Chelmsford, Essex I’m so excited to share this shoot with you. I just adore this family! I first met Paola and Dinnish back in 2017 when I photographed their beautiful wedding. We instantly clicked and I loved spending the day with them and celebrating their marriage. We’ve kept in touch and over the years I’ve done so many photoshoots for them and their growing family. Six year old Noah and his little sister, Zahra, are so full of life! They are joyful and so cheeky! It’s always a pleasure to join them for an adventure and take some photographs. Danbury Country Park family portraits One of my favourite things about my job is that I am able to see families grow and change over the years. From photographing a wedding through to newborn shoots and then family portraits. It’s such an honour to be trusted with these precious memories and I certainly don’t take it for granted. The last 12 months really brought it home how much I love spending time with my regular families, catching up with them, hearing their news and meeting new additions - both human and furry! I’ve missed everyone and was so excited when lockdown was eased and we were finally able to schedule Paola and Dinnish’s next family session. We decided to meet up at Danbury Country Park. The park is the perfect spot for portraits. Noah and Zahra just love being outdoors. They adore exploring and climbing trees and were in their element! I’m a huge advocate for natural family photographs. They capture the essence of your relationships and show off this moment in time like nothing else. Dinnish and Paola really embrace this style of photography, I don’t think we could have got Noah and Zahra to stand still even if we wanted to! We filled the afternoon with play and activities, everyone raced around chasing each other, swinging off branches and having the best time. By the end of the shoot my face was aching from smiling so much! Haha their cheeky and mischievous characters bring me so much joy. What to wear for family photographs “Help Danielle, we have no idea what to wear!” This is my most frequently asked question ahead of a family photo shoot! I’ve answered in more detail over on my family photography page but I just wanted to highlight it here. Dinnish, Paola, Noah and Zahra always coordinate their outfits so perfectly and are a great mix of comfortable, stylish and weather appropriate. You don’t need to be formal for a natural portrait session, I want you to be yourselves and to wear something you feel happy in. If you love the look of this family shoot and would like me to capture some memories for you then please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.

  • Family Photos in Bluebell Woods, Essex

Capturing special moments between family members is the reason why family photography is so popular. Life passes us by quickly but sometimes it’s good to stop and capture a moment in time that you can look back on with a smile and fond memories. • Autumn Family Photography Essex

At the end of last year I spent a lovely few hours with this gorgeous lot - Kyle, Dee and their two beautiful children. We ventured out to Danbury Country Park, Chelmsford and whilst the little ones laughed, ran wild and generally had a whale of a time I captured all their antics. I’ve known Kyle and Dee for years, I’ve photographed lots of their family weddings and we regularly bump into each other at celebrations. It was so nice to catch up with them, meet Ellie-May and Viktor properly and create some stunning autumn family photography. Natural, outdoor family photography Danbury Country Park is ideal for natural family portrait shoots. With acres of gardens, ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows, we’re really spoilt for choice with locations and backdrops. Children are free to explore which is perfect for my relaxed and informal style of photography. No awkward posing or forcing them to “smile at the camera!”, I want you all to have fun and, most importantly, be yourselves! I just adore the rich colours and golden light that autumn brings, it’s one of my favourite seasons and is perfect for photoshoots. The changing hues of the trees make for beautiful backdrops while children love finding piles of leaves (perfect for throwing!) and if we come across a few puddles to splash about in then even better! I like to keep everything nice and simple on a natural family portrait shoot, I’ll find the nice light, the perfect spot and capture you all as you are. The snuggles, the giggles and the adventures. Ellie May and Viktor had so much fun playing in the long grass of the meadow. I loved seeing how Ellie-May interacted with her baby brother. She was the perfect big sister making sure Viktor was entertained and keeping him laughing. Interactions between siblings - the touch of a hand, a mischievous grin, a tickle - are the real, genuine moments that I love to capture and that families adore looking back on in years to come. Family portraits After the last 12 months family photography has become even more important. So much has taken place behind closed doors. Grandparents and other wider family members have missed out on seeing children grow and change. Birthdays and milestones have been shared over Zoom rather than in person. Capturing these changes, those authentic, fleeting moments, is such a privilege and I am so looking forward to meeting up with families again and creating some beautiful memories for more autumn family photography in Essex If you’d like to book your natural, outdoor family shoot then please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.

  • Family Photos at Home in Romford, Essex

Family photos at home in Romford, Essex Just look at that cheeky little smile! Meet baby Eli. I had so much fun with him and his parents - Amy and Elj - when I photographed them at their beautiful home in Romford back in December. This family shoot was a baby shower gift from Amy’s friends. So thoughtful! Sadly COVID put paid to our plans for a newborn session and baby Eli was almost eight months by the time we were able to get together. I can’t tell you how lovely it was to finally get to meet Amy and Elj and to say hello to little Eli. He is a real bundle of energy, so cheeky and just loved flashing that grin at the camera! At home family photography My newborn and baby photography sessions always take place in your home. This is the place your child knows best and where they are most comfortable. They can explore, tumble and play in a safe environment, which helps keep things stress free for you parents as well! It also means no rushing around, worrying about being late or trying to remember everything you need! All of my family shoots are very relaxed and natural. No posing, no huge lights or bulky equipment. I’m simply there to capture your family in that moment, whether that’s cuddling together on your sofa, playing in the garden or reading a favourite story. I love seeing the connection between you all and capturing everyone’s personality. Eli’s character really shone during our shoot, he loved giggling with his parents, ‘posing’ for photographs and playing in front of the Christmas tree, which he was utterly fascinated by! The photographs are a lovely little glimpse into your family life which is so precious to look back on. Christmas family photography session One of the positives of our original newborn shoot being so delayed was that Amy, Elj and Eli could have a festive family session instead. Their beautifully decorated Christmas tree made a lovely, twinkly backdrop for photographs of little Eli. It was the perfect way to mark his first Christmas! As an added bonus, prints from a family shoot also make fantastic gifts for loved ones, or are a great way to create a unique Christmas card! If you’d like your own newborn or family shoot, or would love to gift a photography session to a loved one or expectant mother, please get in touch. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

  • Newborn Baby Photos in Brentwood, Essex

Newborn baby photos in Brentwood, Essex Oh look at this cute little bundle! I’m so pleased to have Baby Lennie (and his wonderful family) on my blog today. I photographed him when he was just a week old and had already captured so many hearts, including his big sister Aubrie’s. She had just turned 4 and was so excited to tell me all about her new baby brother. What a proud sister! I first photographed Aubrie when she was the same age as Lennie - she was fascinated to hear all about that - and it was lovely to see the family again and meet their new addition. Relaxed and natural newborn photography There’s nothing like those early days with a newborn, they pass by in a blur and your baby grows and changes in the blink of an eye. That tiny, squidgy bundle quickly turns into an energetic toddler! Capturing that time is so precious and families (especially big sisters like Aubrie!) love looking back at their photographs over the years. I keep my newborn photography sessions very gentle and relaxed, completely led by you and baby. I use natural light and composition to create timeless, classic photos of this utterly unique, and oh so wonderful, time in your lives. I just love capturing all the little details - the curl of Lennie’s fists, his teeny toes and that perfect pout! During the shoot I will always get the whole family in front of my camera, even if it’s just for a few photographs. I love the photos of Joanna and Richard with Aubrie and Lennie. My photography is all about capturing the unique character of everyone, your connection and those family dynamics! Aubrie is so sweet and funny with a lovely dash of cheekiness, at first she was a little shy but she warmed up quickly and was in her element during the family photos. At home newborn photography By keeping the shoot natural and with minimal posing I’m able to capture a slice of family life, a real moment in time. When a newborn arrives they bring a wonderful change to your family. Two become three, three become four, only children become siblings. It’s a real honour to see those moments between siblings especially. To capture the awe in their eyes as they gaze down at the new baby, to know that there will be so many adventures to be had together! All my newborn shoots take place in your home, where you’re completely comfortable and everything you might need is to hand. There are no worries about leaving the house on time - always a difficult task with a baby! It also means that both you and your newborn are in the environment that you know best. I always tell parents not to worry about pausing the shoot at any point, to change or feed baby, just to give them a moment or have a little cuddle! Lennie was so content to snooze whilst I unobtrusively photographed him, only waking up a few times to settle in his Mum’s arms. If you’d like to find out more about my newborn shoots please get in touch. I recommend that they take place within two - three weeks of birth so I’d always advise families to book their date in sooner rather than later.

  • Intimate Wedding at Pontlands Park, Chelmsford

I was so chuffed when Anna and Dan decided not to postpone their wedding due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, but instead decided it was more important for them to simply tie the knot now and solidify their family unit with Dan’s daughter Lacey. They decided an intimate wedding at their original venue- Pontlands Park in Chelmsford would be perfect right now. The big celebrations will be saved until 2022 when hopefully all their friends and extended family can join them. I feel like I've gotten to know Anna and Dan so well through following each other on Instagram during the build up to the wedding, so it was SO amazing to finally meet them and share their incredible intimate wedding day with them. When I arrived I felt like we'd been friends fo ages which is such a lovely feeling. I was so excited to be back at Pontlands Park. It's such a gorgeous venue, especially during the Autumn; the gardens and buildings are extra stunning this time of year. I'd say Anna definitely isn't your typical bride haha. She literally couldn't wait to get her pristine white dress dirty in the mud outside! And she decided to keep it real and wear her converse as her 'something old' which I absolutely love. I loved that Anna and Dan remained true to themselves when it came to planning their wedding and enjoying the day they wanted. I think it's so important to do this and always remember that it's your day. You can have whatever you want! There are no rules when it comes to styling and what you want to wear and even what photos you want to capture. (Ok there are may be a few rules when getting married during a pandemic though haha). Anna has the coolest style! Her beautiful boho chic style Rembo Styling wedding dress suited her personality and style down to a tee. She looked INSANE. I love that Rembo Styling's slogan is: "She is a dreamer who loves her Friends. Her world is Dynamic and Free, with no boundaries for happiness. Her Bohemian Chic style is a Natural Extension. She is pure and unique. Enjoying life to the fullest, in a spontaneous way." And I literally couldn't think of a better way to describe Anna. Her jewellery, gorgeous flowers with sunflowers and pampas grass, and her amazing embroidered denim jacket all tied in with her laid back boho chic style. The ceremony was so touching. These two are so in love it actually makes me sick! hahaha Honestly it was was a dream. And little Lacey did the most amazing reading for them. This kid is such a delight, so lovely to be around and super cool like her parents. I think everyone welled up a bit when Lacey got emotional watching her Dad marry his best friend who is also her best friend <3 The relationship between the three of them is amazing to witness. I loved that this wedding combined Anna and Dan's super cool, modern style with some traditional old school elements. So after the ceremony, they decorated their VW camper van before having afternoon tea with their immediate friends and family and then driving off on honeymoon as they waved them off. So it turns out intimate weddings are pretty damn EPIC. I just want to say thanks so much to Anna and Dan for having me share this awesome day with them. It really was so perfect and I love that you decided to go ahead with the intimate wedding despite everything. It honestly makes it even more special at times like this and I hope you can cherish these moments forever. Here is just a little snippet of Anna and Dan's intimate wedding at Pontlands Park... • Classic and Timeless Black Tie Wedding

Classic and Timeless Black Tie Wedding This weekend was simply AMAZING. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sophie and Andy’s incredible classic and timeless black tie wedding at the Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel in Hertfordshire. Planning a wedding in the midst of a pandemic cannot be an easy task and with the rules and guidelines around weddings continuously changing, these two did an EPIC job of pulling off such a beautiful and memorable day. I was blown away when I saw Sophie's stunning Nicole Milano dress and the veil by Unveiled by Sophie really was spectacular. The detailing on both pieces is insane! Sophie looked stunning even before she'd had her make up done. Andy is definitely one lucky man. When she put the dress on, she looked jaw-droppingly stunning. Honestly- WOW. Sophie and Andy had an Orthodox wedding which was so beautiful and a very special ceremony. They were also lucky enough to have one of those gorgeous sunny September days that are beautifully bright yet not too hot. What more could you ask for?! After the ceremony we headed back the the Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel for the drinks reception and some gorgeous photos of the newlyweds in the stunning grounds surrounding the hotel. The venue really is quite spectacular and I was overwhelmed with all the locations available that would make great backdrops for photos. Here is just a snippet of the story of Sophie and Andy's wedding day... Some kind words from the couple themselves: "Andy and I just wanted to say thank you SOOOOOOO much for everything yesterday, you and Emma were absolutely incredible and so amazing at your jobs. We are so grateful for how flexible you were on the day and how you made us and all of our guests feel completely at ease. We all had so much fun with you!
