I had the best time photographing Harrison and his Mum and Dad, Leanne and Paul this Autumn at Wanstead Park in East London! This was actually a pre-wedding photo session in preparation for their wedding day this August. However, I appreciate that children are a big part of a couples day and so I feel it's pretty important to have the little ones along for the pre-wedding session so that they can get used to me and we can get to know each other a bit more before photographing the wedding day.
We went for a long walk around the park which is stunning during Autumn with all the golden leaves and soft Autumn light. Harrison is such a cheeky little monkey! He loved feeding the birds and running around the park playing and by the end of it, he was totally relaxed and barely even aware that I had the camera in my hand. It was so nice to capture his true state- completely oblivious to me and loving playing with his Mum and Dad and photographing those real moments of laughter and pure joy.
I am super excited to be Leanne and Paul's wedding photographer this year! After having been together for 13 years and had their boy Harrison they are finally ready to tie the knot! I am looking forward to the 1920s style theme they are going for and seeing them all glammed up for the wedding day. Hopefully we can capture lots more memories for them and for Harrison to look back on when he's grown up himself.
I think this is one of the most important factors when considering your wedding photography- the memories you will have printed and cherished- for your children to look back on in decades time and really feel the story and emotion of the day- even if they can't remember much of it themselves. A wedding album is such a powerful family keepsake.
